Website redesign and repair for London, Ontario businesses
If you already have a website, you may not need a new one. YXU Studio runs a free check on the site you have, using Google's own Lighthouse scores, and tells you whether fixing it or rebuilding it costs less. A rebuild is $499 to $1,399; a fix is quoted after the check.
What the free check actually measures
The check runs Google's Lighthouse against your homepage on both a simulated phone and a desktop, which is the same tool Google publishes and the same one your competitors are being measured against.
It reports four scores out of a hundred, plus the three Core Web Vitals Google uses: largest contentful paint, which should be under 2.5 seconds; cumulative layout shift, under 0.1; and interaction to next paint, under 200 milliseconds.
Then it looks at the things a score cannot see:
- Whether you have a page per service or one page trying to do everything
- Whether your business name, address and phone match your Google Business Profile exactly
- Whether the site is readable with a thumb, in daylight, in a driveway
- Whether anything on it is out of date enough to cost you a call
When fixing is the right answer
If the structure is sound and the site is just slow, heavy or dated, fixing is cheaper and keeps whatever ranking history you already have. That usually means stripping plugins, replacing images, rewriting the service pages and correcting the business details.
The price depends entirely on what is there, so it is quoted after the check rather than guessed at beforehand. If a fix would cost more than the $899 Standard build, I will tell you that instead of selling you the fix.
When rebuilding is the right answer
Rebuilding wins when the site is built on something that cannot be made fast, when there is no real content to save, or when you are locked into a monthly platform fee that costs more per year than a new site costs once.
Directory-built sites are the common case: cheap monthly, no pages worth keeping, and the domain sometimes is not even in your name. Checking who owns your domain is part of the free check, and it is worth knowing regardless of who builds your next site.

Questions people ask
What does a website fix cost?
There is no fixed price, because no two existing sites are in the same state. The check is free and the quote comes after it in writing. A new build is a known $499, $899 or $1,399, so you always have a ceiling to compare the fix against.
Will I lose my Google ranking if I rebuild?
Not if the rebuild keeps your domain and redirects every old address to its new one, which is standard here. Rankings usually move for a week or two after any launch and settle back.
Do I have to move my hosting?
For a rebuild, yes, and it is free from then on. For a fix, not necessarily, though most hosts a local business ends up on are the reason the site is slow.
Is the check really free?
Yes, and it does not require a call. It is run from public tools against your public homepage, and you get the numbers whether or not you hire me.
