Woodstock is its own market, not a London suburb
Forks Blue
YXU Studio is not in Woodstock. It is one person in London, along the 401. That matters less for the website than for search: Statistics Canada counts Woodstock as a census area of its own, outside London's, and Google weighs how close a business is to the person searching, so people in Woodstock tend to be shown Woodstock businesses. Your site should say Woodstock plainly, plus the Oxford towns you really serve.

Statistics Canada counts St. Thomas and Strathroy in the London census metropolitan area. Woodstock is not. It is a census agglomeration of its own, and the city is the only place in it. In search, someone in Woodstock looking for a roofer or a dentist tends to be shown Woodstock businesses, because distance from the person searching is one of the main things Google weighs in local results.
So a Woodstock business gains nothing by sounding like a London one. The page title, the opening line and your Google Business Profile should all say Woodstock, in the same words, and the pages for each service should say what you do there. I write that copy from our call, and you change anything that is not how you would say it before it goes live.
Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and the rest of Oxford
Oxford County had 121,781 people in the 2021 Census, and Woodstock was about 38% of them. Tillsonburg had 18,615 people and Ingersoll 13,693. Each is a separate town with its own searches, so if you drive to customers there, name them.
Name them once, honestly, and not on a page each. A Google Business Profile for a business that travels to customers can list up to 20 service areas, which shows customers where you go. Independent testing by Sterling Sky found that map rankings are tied mainly to the address the profile was verified at, so listing Tillsonburg is unlikely to lift a Woodstock business on the Tillsonburg map. A single service-area page on your site, naming the towns you really cover and matching the profile, does that job without inventing an office in each town.
A city that grew faster than London
Woodstock had 46,705 people in the 2021 Census, up 13.6% from 2016. Over the same five years the London census area grew 10.0%, and Ontario 5.8%. The city reports $285.1 million worth of permits in 2025. It sits where Highways 401 and 403 meet, and Toyota's RAV4 plant there opened in December 2008.
What that means for any single business is not mine to guess. The practical part is that a city that grows this quickly has many people who arrived recently. They have no neighbour to ask, so they search, and a map listing plus the page it links to is their first look at you.
How a Woodstock build runs from London
I work alone from London and will not put a Woodstock address on my own listing to look local. The first call, the homepage preview, the build and every change after launch run by phone and email, the same way they do for clients anywhere in Canada. If you would rather go through the preview in person, ask.
Help in Woodstock and Oxford before you spend on a website
None of these build websites, and none lists them as a service. They cover the business plan, financing and advice that should come first, and if you are just starting, talk to them before you talk to me.
- The Small Business Centre at 21 Market St. W., a partnership between the Province of Ontario, the City of Woodstock and Oxford County. All of its services are free, from coaching and mentoring to workshops, and it runs Starter Company+, which offers training and a $5,000 grant opportunity for people starting, buying or expanding a business in Oxford County, though grants are limited
- Community Futures Oxford, a not-for-profit lender in downtown Ingersoll at 118 Oxford Street. Its business advice is free. Its loans, of up to $300,000, including microloans of up to $60,000 for existing Oxford County businesses, carry interest and fees
- The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, also at 21 Market Street, which says more than 275 Woodstock businesses are members. Membership is paid

Questions people ask
Are you based in Woodstock?
No. YXU Studio is one person in London. A Woodstock build runs by phone and email, like any other outside London, and you deal with me directly from the first call to every change after launch. If you would prefer to go through the homepage preview face to face, ask.
Should my Woodstock website mention Ingersoll and Tillsonburg?
Only if you go there for work. Name them on one service-area page and in your Google Business Profile, which can list up to 20 areas if you travel to customers. Independent testing found the listed areas currently change what customers see, not where you rank on the map, which is tied mainly to your verified address. Separate near-identical pages for each town are one of Google's examples of doorway abuse.
Is there free help for small businesses in Woodstock?
Yes. The Small Business Centre at 21 Market St. W. offers all of its services free, including coaching, mentoring and workshops, and runs Starter Company+ with a $5,000 grant opportunity. Community Futures Oxford in Ingersoll offers free business advice, and loans at interest. Neither builds websites.
What does a website cost for a Woodstock business?
Prices do not change with the town. One to three pages is $499, four to six is $899, and seven to ten is $1,399, paid once in Canadian dollars. Hosting is included on every plan, so the domain, about $15 to $25 a year, is the only ongoing cost. You see your own homepage in the free preview before you pay anything.
